GMB speeds ahead with coastal development plans

Gandhinagar : Gujarat Maritime Board is speeding ahead with its plans to develop greenfield ports and shipyards.

The Pre-proposal Conference regarding the ‘Request for Proposal’ (RFP) for “Consultancy Services for Techno-economic Study of the Sites, along Coastline of Gujarat, for development of Greenfield Ports and Shipyards” was held at the Board Room of Gujarat Maritime Board, Gandhinagar last week.

The meeting was held to introduce the potential applicants to the importance of the consultancy services for Techno-economic Study of the Sites and discuss the queries raised by the potential applicants.

The meeting was chaired by the Chief Engineer-GMB, Mr. B.B. Talavia.

 

The queries received from the potential applicants before the meeting and additional queries raised during the meeting were discussed and clarified in the meeting. The Authority assured the potential applicants that the Authority would endeavor to issue written responses to queries at the earliest possible.

This Pre-Proposal meeting clarified that the consultant has to identify 5 best locations for ports out of 16 village sites and 6 best locations for shipyards out of 23 village sites.
