Kandla Port creates new record of Coal handling on MV Nord Cetus

GANDHIDHAM: Kandla Port Trust Marine Department under the leadership of Deputy Conservator Capt T Srinivas surpassed their previous records and set up another benchmark by berthing MV NORD CETUS at Berth no XIII, This Panama flag vessel of length 245 mtrs and Beam 43 meters with a displacement of 111394 MT, carrying coal from New Orleans, USA, was berthed surpassing their earlier highest displacement of 102000 MT.

She was berthed by one of the most experienced Senior Pilot Capt D C Bhatt on 25th Feb 2017 at 1545 hrs.

By berthing of this large vessel another milestone has been achieved by Kandla Port Trust and this record was well scripted by excellent co-ordination between Pilot, Signal Station, Mooring crew, Port Tugs - SHWETA, OCEAN LANCER, KALINGA and Traffic Department.
