COSCO SHIPPING signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chery Automobile

BEIJING: COSCO SHIPPING signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chery Automobile in Shanghai to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership on 24th February 2017. Mr. Wan Min, Director of the Board and President of COSCO SHIPPING, Mr. Yin Tongyue, Chairman and President of Chery Automobile, and some other leaders attended the signing ceremony. Executive Vice President of COSCO SHIPPING Huang Xiaowen and Vice President of Chery Automobile Zhang Guozhong inked the agreement on behalf of the two sides.

The two parties agreed that they will, based on the principles of equal cooperation, complementary advantages, mutual benefit, and shared development, continue to deepen their cooperation on water transportation of auto parts while developing container transportation solutions for complete vehicles. In addition, they also promised to further their cooperation in terminals, warehousing, logistics, aviation and overseas business, so as to fully leverage their advantages, lower the logistics cost and achieve common development.

Chery Automobile is the best example of self-owned auto brands in China and its products are exported to more than 80 countries and regions around the world, while COSCO SHIPPING is the world’s largest shipping company. The signing of this agreement will advance their strategic cooperation in a wide range of fields, including transportation of complete vehicles and parts, aviation, overseas business, warehousing and logistics. Moreover, integration of industry and finance will be another area of cooperation between the two companies.

The signing ceremony was also attended by executive managers from Chery Automobile, as well as the relevant divisions and specialized companies under COSCO SHIPPING.
