Kamarajar Port receives Ambassadors of six Nordic countries to boost trading ties

CHENNAI: Ambassadors of Norway Sweden, Finland, and Iceland besides their trade counsellors visited the Kamarajar Port at Ennore near Chennai on February 21 to have a glimpse of the Port operations and its infrastructure according to a port release.

The diplomatic dignitaries who visited the Port include Ambassador to India of Nordic countries Mr Nils Ragnar Kamvag,(Norway), Mr Harald Sandberg (Sweden) Ms Nina Irmeli Vaskunlahti (Finland), Mr Thorir Ibsen (Iceland), Mr Helge Asbjorn (Trade counsellors Norway) and Mr Mikko Johannes Trade Counsellors (Finland).

The high level diplomats had interaction with Mr. M.A. Bhaskarachar, CMD and other senior officials of KPL for potential business relationship with their countries and Kamarajar Port.

After the visit to the Terminals and Berths, they appreciated the existing modern port facilities, ongoing development projects and expressed their satisfaction of Port’s plan which is growing from 30 million tonnes to 100 million tonnes in a short span of time.
