Kandla Port received first Ro-Ro vessel at newly developed Berth No.1

GANDHIDHAM: The Coastal Ro-Ro vessels have been calling at Kandla Port since September, 2016.  During the year 2016-17, 13,432 cars were handled at Berth No.15.

A new chapter has been added recently when the first Ro-Ro vessel during the current financial year 2017-18, MV DRESDEN, arrived at Kandla Port on 13/04/2017 at 1230 hrs. and was berthed  at 1450 hrs. on 13.04.2017 at the newly developed Berth No.1 dedicated to handle Ro-Ro vessels. A Total of 2795 cars (2265 import and 530 export) were handled. 

The Port has developed a parking area of about 50,000 sq. mtrs. opposite Berth No.1 for parking of cars, informed a KPT  release.
