Shri Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Minister of State for Communication (I/C) & Union Minister of State for Railways, who was the Chief Guest for this event said, “The new ICD at Sachana will be a boon to customers as the wait-time will be significantly reduced. This is a fillip to infrastructure in Gujarat.”
Mr. N. Adikesavulu Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director, CWCNSL in his inaugural speech said that “Export & Import cargo should move mainly by rail and not by road. This brings down logistics cost and translates into an advantage for indigenous manufacturers and as such CWCNSL is investing in the right infrastructure”. He also thanked Chief Guest, Mr. Manoj Sinha and Mr. Kalyana Rama, CMD – CONCOR for their support.
Mr. Samir Shah, Chairman, FFFAI thanked Mr. Reddy, CMD, CWCNSL for having selected Gujarat to set up such ICD facility and wished him to start similar facilities in many more locations in Gujarat. Key features of the freight terminal include three dedicated rail sidings, warehouses of 5 lakh, firm tie-up for transportation of cargo to and from the terminal, etc. Mechanized handling equipment, in-house electronic weighbridge, business centre, 24x7 surveillance, CCTVs, etc. are additional features for the convenience of customers.
