MUMBAI : The GST (Goods and Services Tax), one of the most ambitious tax reform in Independent India was launched by the Government at midnight of Friday. Speaking regarding the roll out  of this historic moment, Mr. Prakash Tulsiani, Executive Director & COO, Allcargo Logistics commented - “For large integrated solutions providers like Allcargo Logistics, which operate through multiple locations, it is important to align our business operations and systems in advance. We are in touch with our vendors, suppliers and partners to create awareness and ensure we are all geared for this momentous change. Our ERP systems have been made GST compliant and it is our people’s efforts for the past 2 months that has made this possible.

GST is set to change the game of logistics in near future. While it will lead to a natural progression of the sector towards organized players, the elimination of interstate tax through one Central Tax will bring down logistics costs significantly. It may take around 3 to 6 months to realize the benefits. As a nation we will benefit in terms of a stronger GDP in the next few years.”
