JNPT wins "Best Port of the Year - Containerised" at India Maritime Awards

MUMBAI: JNPT has won the coveted “Best Port of the Year - Containerised” Award at the prestigious India Maritime Awards 2nd Edition. In fact JNPT alone handles more than half of the Containerised cargo of India. 

Mr. Neeraj Bansal, IRS, Deputy Chairman - JNPT received this Award from Mr. Ashish Goel and Mr. Laksha Tadadikar of Ameya Logistics.

JNPT became the first Major Port in the Country to cross the historic milestone of handling 4.5 million TEUs during last fiscal year - highest since its inception in 1989.

Under the Dynamic Leadership of Port Chairman Shri Anil Diggikar, IAS, and Deputy Chairman Shri Neeraj Bansal, IRS, the JN Port has taken a number of path breaking initiatives for ensuring a faster and economical operation. Initiatives taken for Automation and Upgradation have helped in streamlining and simplification of the processes thereby reducing cost, time and document required for the export-import trading community to do business with JNPT. 

Consequently due to such pro active measures the Average Import Dwell Time at JN Port has reduced to just 1.5 Days as against the Global benchmark of 1 to 2 days.
