MSC extends IMED Service to call Directly at Hamad Port, Qatar

GENEVA: MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is pleased to announce new weekly calls at Hamad Port, Qatar, on its IMED Service, beginning in week 37, informed a MSC statement.

The extended IMED service will operate the following rotation, beginning with the departure of MSC Sariska from the Turkish Port of Mersin on 11 September:

MERSIN – ISTANBUL – TEKIRDAG – CANAKKALE – PIRAEUS – ISKENDERUN – KING ABDULLAH PORT – SALALAH – JEBEL ALI – HAMAD

Calling directly at Hamad Port will ensure faster transit times for cargo shipped from Turkish and Greek Ports.

For example:

•             Mersin – Hamad: 22 days

•             Istanbul – Hamad: 18 days

•             Tekirdag – Hamad: 17 days

•             Canakkale – Hamad: 16 days

•             Piraeus – Hamad: 15 days

•             Iskenderun – Hamad: 11 days

This service will also enable exports from Hamad Port to Sohar in Oman, Mundra Port and Nhava Sheva in India and the Eastern Mediterranean Ports, informed a statement.
