Adani APSEZ, Mundra & Tuna wins 19 Awards at VCCQC 2017

AHMEDABAD: APSEZ, Mundra & Tuna Teams showed exactly how it follows the philosophy of its parent company – Thinking Big, Doing Better.

On 3rd September 2017 at the 28th Annual Convention on Quality Circle, Adani APSEZ won 19 Awards at the VCCQC 2017. 18 teams (16 from Mundra and 2 from Tuna) and more than 54 team members swept 17 Gold Medals, 1 Silver Medals and 1 R G Deolalikar Trophy for highest participation in Allied Concept during the Convention organized by Quality Circle Forum of India – Vadodara Chapter.

Year on year, since it first participated at QCFI in 2009, the number of awards won each year has witnessed a steep increase. The officials from QCFI and representatives from the industry were overwhelmed by Adani Group’s presence. As the awards were being announced, the Adani teams filled the hall with the echoes of Thinking Big, Doing Better.

A total of 85 teams with around 340 members participated at this Gujarat State Level Annual Convention known as Vadodara Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts 2017 (VCCQC 2017) from approximate 35 different industries including Aditya Birla, NTPC, Apollo, L & T, Saint Gobain, TOI, Crompton Greave, CEAT, IOCL, GSFC, etc. It was a splendid show reverberating with the energy and enthusiasm of participants from Port. The gathering at the convention appreciated the pioneering efforts by APSEZ - Mundra in providing India a competitive advantage through quality-centric approach, inventive techniques, innovations, continuous improvements and unrelenting focus towards learning.

 These awards are not just another feather in its cap, these are a strong reinforcement to APSEZ’s belief of doing things right and better. They are the most deserved fruits for the sincere efforts put in by the participants over last few weeks. Without hampering day to day regular responsibilities the participants stretched themselves for practice sessions, even though some of them had to attend breakdowns over nights, some were undergoing training programs out of station and so on and so forth. The HODs / HOSs, Senior Leadership Team also deserve appreciation for encouraging and extending complete support and guidance to the participating team members.

 Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI) is recognised as the institution representing “The Quality Circle” movement in India and has represented the country in several international forums. The theme for this year was “Quality Concepts Creating Value to the Corporate World & Society”.
