CHENNAI: The Confederation of Indian Industry organised a workshop on exploring export possibilities here recently and 75 delegates from various companies located across Tamil Nadu participated.
Addressing the gathering, C. Murugeswaran, Chairman, CII Thoothukudi, said the objective of the workshop was to prepare small and medium scale industries, especially the exporters, to reposition themselves by ensuring value addition to their products and services with respect to present global demand.
While arguing that Thoothukudi had excellent potential to become the best export facilitating port in India, he talked of the present business scenario prevailing in the export market and urged everyone to explore new opportunities in this field.
“Given Thoothukudi’s geographic and strategic advantage, the abundant skilled workforce in the region, world class seaport etc. the exporters here should make use of this opportunity to take themselves to greater heights in the field,” Mr. Murugeswaran noted.
