MUNDRA/GANDHIDHAM: Global trade enabler DP World operated Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT) has been conferred with the ‘Container Terminal Operator of the Year’ award for the Third Consecutive time at the 6th edition of the Gujarat Star Awards.
The award was handed by Mr. Percy Vapiwala, Chief Executive Officer, Ameya Logistics to the DP World Mundra team at a grand ceremony held at Hotel Radisson, Gandhidham in the presence of industry stalwarts.
Mr. Sandeep Mehta, Chief Executive Officer, DP World Mundra said, “We at DP World, feel privileged to be recognised for our contribution to logistics trade in North West India, and Gujarat in particular. DP World Mundra, in 2016 set a benchmark for successfully handling 1.11 million TEU in one calendar year, this is the first for any container terminal in the state of Gujarat. The accomplishment has been made possible due to the efforts undertaken in the direction of automation and new technology adoption. The terminal recently introduced the country’s first remotely operated Rail Mounted Gantry Crane (RMGC) to its portfolio and currently operates a total of 7 Quay Cranes, 3 RMGs and 18 e-RTGs at the terminal.
