MUMBAI / ANTWERP: The Port of Antwerp will host a road show from the 12th to the 16th of February 2018 in the cities of Mumbai, Chennai, Pune and New Delhi. The road show brings together several stakeholders and partners of the Antwerp Port Authority such as the Port of Montreal - its North American market’s strategic partner, a group of Antwerp logistics service providers and senior representatives from the Belgian Government.
A reception will be organized on the 12th of February by Antwerp Port Authority at the Trident Hotel, Nariman Point, Mumbai in honour of the Port of Montreal’s visit to India. Other activities scheduled for the day will include the second workshop organized for the Port of Antwerp Alumni and an interactive session between Indian exporters and the Antwerp logistics delegation.
While the workshop with Mr. Walter Van Mechelen - Chairman, Alfaport from Antwerp as speaker is an opportunity to explore how digital innovations can be utilized to enhance supply chain operations, the interactive session will provide Indian exporters with the opportunity to interact with the Antwerp logistics delegation and evaluate their supply chain options.
The road show will visit the cities of Chennai on the 13th of February, Pune on the 14th and 15th of February and Delhi on the 16th of February. Mr. Luc Arnouts - Director, International Relations at Antwerp Port Authority and the Antwerp logistics delegation will be available for interactions with local businesses at these cities. Senior officials from the Belgian Government such as Mr. Mark Van de Vreken - Consul General of Belgium to South India, Mr. Peter Huyghebaert - Consul General of Belgium to Mumbai and Ms. Babette Desfossez - Customs Attaché of Belgium will also be present at the sessions. Businesses engaged in export and import of cargo in break bulk, steel, project cargo and containers will benefit from the sessions.
H.E. Jan Luykx - Belgium Ambassador to India will attend the Port of Antwerp’s event at the Taj Diplomatic Enclave Hotel, New Delhi, organized to facilitate engagements between North Indian businesses and the Antwerp team. A separate session will also be held for the steel industry in partnership with Indian Steel Association to highlight the Port’s strengths in handling steel and explore specialized services provided by the Antwerp companies for the steel sector.
