Recorded a combined throughput of 198,366 TEUs in May
MUNDRA: The Adani Container Terminals in Mundra Adani Mundra Container Terminal (AMCT) & Adani International Container Terminal Pvt Ltd (AICTPL) recorded a combined throughput of 198,366 TEUs in the month of May'15 surpassing the previous highest of 177,928 TEUs.
Mr Ennarasu Karunesan, COO & Head Container Business, APSEZ mentioned “This is a remarkable achievement by the Adani Container Terminals TEAM which has displayed a splendid performance.

This achievement was made possible by constant encouragement and support being given by Sr. Leadership of APSEZ to our TEAM consists of Mr Harikrishnan Sundaram, GM Business Development & Marketing and Mr Houssam Haddad, Head AdaniMundra Container Terminals through seamless co-ordination.
AICTPL recorded its highest throughput ever of 109,390 TEUs since commencing of its operations in August 2012. AICTPL is a joint venture between Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd ( APSEZ) and Terminal Investments Ltd (TIL).
The Container terminals in Mundra handled a volume of 2.7 million TEUs in 2014 -15 and is targeting 3.5 million TEUs to be handled in 2015-16.
The strategic advantages of Mundra include deep draft to handle large container ships & seamless rail and road connectivity to the cargo catchment centres in Northern and Western hinterland. The Port has seen a considerable increase in the Rail bound cargo including a rise in handling of double stack containers.
Recently, Mundra has also attracted transhipment cargo from Pakistan/Africa & Persian Gulf giving the shipping lines an option to “hub” the cargo.
Mr Ennarasu also added that “APSEZ has always created Supply driven infrastructure ahead of schedule and I am sure we will be able to offer Consistent Port services & meet the growing customer needs”.
