MUNDRA: Global trade enabler DP World in association with the TAI Foundation managed ‘The Mundra Institute of Medical Science’ has transformed the landscape of healthcare in the Mundrataluka since its inauguration six months ago. The hospital, equipped with advanced health care facilities such as digital x-rays, oncological surgery, chemotherapy and laser stone removal provides easy access to healthcare facilities to the residents of the villages of Mundrataluka.
The facility has catered to thousands of patients since its launch in October 2016. The Out Patient Department has treated over 7000 patients, the In Patient Department has facilitated more than 800 patients, and over 900 patients have benefitted from the x-ray facilities at the hospital. In addition to this, the hospital has hosted a total of 8 health camps to ensure fitness and wellbeing within the community.
The modern amenities and skilled staff at the Mundra Institute of Medical Science have efficiently saved lives in cases of severe accidents in the surrounding areas.
Mr. TarachandChheda, MLA Mandvi-Mundra, commented on the success of the hospital, “It was my honour to inaugurate the centre in October last year, and since then the hospital has successfully become a provider of healthcare in the taluka. It was extremely critical to have a state-of-the-art hospital in the district, which otherwise lacks exceptional healthcare facilities. I hope the hospital continues on its path of success and in introducing advanced medical amenities to the surrounding area.”
Mr. Anil Singh, Senior Vice-President and Managing Director, DP World Subcontinent said, “DP World committedly supports the government’s mission to increase access to healthcare by expanding coverage to the underprivileged and under-served population of India. Therefore it is extremely heartening to witness the significant ways in which the Mundra Institute of Medical Science has positively impacted the Kutch district’s residents in only 6 months. DP World will continue to support the hospital as best we can, and I have no doubt that together we can build a vibrant, secure and resilient society.”
