NAVI MUMBAI: JNCH will give priority to the DPD Status holders with regards to the Assessment of Bill of Entry. This was highlighted in its latest Public Notice No. 87/2017, which states, “As you may be aware that JNCH recently has taken many steps to promote Direct Port Delivery (DPD) scheme as trade facilitation measures. Accordingly, it has been decided that any request received from the DPD Importer by the concerned Group AC/DC, either through letter or SMS/whatsapp at their mobile numbers listed on JNCH website or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org should be attended by the concerned Group immediately”.
“If such Bill of Entry is not assessed on priority, for any reason thereof, within 06 hours of the request made, then the concerned Group AC/DC should place such Bill of Entry details before the concerned ADC/JC for taking necessary action in the matter. Further, even if, assessment of such Bill of Entry is not resolved at the level of concerned ADC/JC on the same working day, then the matter should be immediately brought to the notice of concerned Commissioner for necessary action. A databank with regard to such request received in the Group/s should also be maintained,” states the Public Notice.
