COCHIN: In a latest circular, the Cochin Port Trust has informed all concerned about simplification of document process at Port CFS as part of Ease of Doing Business.

Subsequent to Trade Notice No A1/ 233(a)/ 2017-T dated 4- 8-2017 regarding simplification of documentation processes in respect of Gate in /Gate out of Import / Export containers and Import cargo delivery handled at Port CFS, it has further been decided to simplify the documentation process in respect of Export Cargo and Entry/Exit of vehicles at the Port CFS. The revised processes are as follows:

Customs Broker (CB) shall submit Cargo Slip cum Vehicle Pass (CSVP) 2 nos ( instead of 2nos of Vehicle pass and 1 no Cargo slip at present) duly filled up, at CFS Gate office. After security check, one copy of CSVP will be returned to CB. Thereafter the procedure currently in force will have to be followed. Request for hiring of Fork lift if any for cargo stacking may be mentioned in the Export Cargo ticket itself( instead of submitting a separate Form 72 for Forklift hiring at present).

For Entry / Exit of Vehicles at CFS, CSVP may be used ( instead of Vehicle Pass at present)with only relevant data’s of Vehicle filled up.

CB must ensure that Forms are kept in their safe custody and returned to CFS Gate office/ Export Document section as the case may be after completing their intended operation. Flow chart of the process and sample forms of Cargo Slip Cum Vehicle Pass (CSVP), Export Cargo Ticket (ECT) to be used is enclosed for guidance.

The revised procedure will be effective from 20-9-2017. All concerned are requested to take note of the above for their information and suitable action.
