Deendayal Port handles 8.89 MMT cargo during February 18, up by 13%

GANDHIDHAM : Deendayal Port handled 88.86 lakh MTs of cargo (Kandla & Vadinar ) during Feb’18 as against 78.66 lakh MTs handled during Feb’17, thereby achieving an increase of 10.20 lakh MTs or 12.97%.

During the current year upto the end of February, 2018, DPT has handled 998.75 lakh MT traffic as against 963.36 lakh MT handled during the corresponding period of last year thereby achieving an increase of 35.39 lakh MT or 3.67%.

As regards dry cargo, the port handled 342.46 lakh MT of traffic in FY 2017-18 ( upto Feb’18 ) as against 327.94 lakh MTs in FY 2016-17 ( upto Feb’17 ), achieving an increase of 14.52 lakh MTs or 4.43%. The port also handled 132.34 lakh MTs of liquid cargoes in FY 2017-18 ( upto Feb’18 ) as against 118.00 lakh MTs in FY 2016-17 ( upto Feb’17 ), achieving an increase of 14.34 lakh MTs or 12.15%. At Vadinar, where the port handles Crude oil and POL(products), the port handled 523.95 lakh MTs in FY 2017-18 ( upto Feb’18 ) as against 517.42 lakh MTs in FY 2016-17 ( upto Feb’17 ), achieving an increase of 6.53 lakh MTs or 1.26%.
