PARIS: HAROPA - Port of Le Havre has just obtained renewal of the PERS (Port Environmental Review System) certificate granted by the EcoPorts foundation. This certification created by European Ports is specific to port environmental performance; it aims to certify the correct management of the environmental standards and rewards the involvement in processes and the initiatives set up by ports.
The PERS is granted for two years to ports which submit a detailed report which is then studied according to precise environmental benchmarks by the auditors from the Lloyd’s Register.
The PERS sets strict requirements to ports in line with the ISO 14001 standard and relying on the political recommendations of ESPO. The first certification for Le Havre took place in 2016.
The official PERS presentation will be held in the course of the Rotterdam conference on May 31st and June 1st, 2018.
